Tackling cancer challenges with older South Asians through courageous conversations

This article is part of a series being published this month in The Globe and Mail to recognize Blood Cancer Awareness Month.

A new research project, funded by a LLSC Blood Cancer Quality of Life Grant, will investigate the blood cancer experience of South Asian Canadians over the age of 65 and their caregivers. The study will assess how their quality of life is shaped by factors like the cancer stigma in the South Asian community, lower levels of literacy, language barriers and perceived and actual discrimination within the health care system.
